Join the Fyne Fish team for a full day of Sushi instruction
A fun filled day, learning the Japanese art of sushi making at our Cockermouth shop.
​
The course covers everything you need to know to be able to continue thereafter on your own, making sushi at home for friends and family.
The day begins learning all about achieving perfect sushi rice, moving swiftly onto rolling your own sushi, making noodle rolls, nigiri platters, temari, temaki cones all while trying new dressings and flavour combinations, whilst at the same time mastering your presentation skills
Refreshments are provided, and as well as taking more sushi home than you can carry (enough for 6 adults rrp £75), you will leave with your own bamboo rolling mat, to encourage you to continue with your newly found skills.
An intensive but extremely enjoyable day for anyone looking to widen their culinary experience.
Time- 10am-3pm.

- Sushi rice, washing, weighing & seasoning
- Sashimi grade fish
- Sushi rolls, hosomaki, ura-hosomaki, futomaki
& ura-futomaki, soba noodle futomaki
- Temari sushi
- Nigiri
- Inari
- Oshi-sushi
- Gunkan sushi
- Prawn preparation
- Sea bass & mackerel curing
- Japanese Tamago
- Sushi garnishes, sauces & dressings
- Sushi Presentation skills

Bamboo rolling mat, sushi rice, sushi vinegar, wasabi paste, toasted sesame seeds, soy sauce, pickled ginger, nori sheets & chopsticks.

SHELLFISH SCHOOL
Our Shellfish schools have been a recent addition to our event calendar, and are already proving to be very popular.
​
The itinerary includes step by step instruction:
​
- Deconstruct and reconstruct your own dressed lobster, ready to take home to make lobster thermidor.
- Deconstruct and dress your own whole crab, ready to take home and make crab cakes, or crab linguine etc.
- Shuck your own scallops, to take home and cook later.
- Shuck your own fresh oysters, enjoy them as you shuck or take home to try a variety of recipes.
- Clean and prepare your own king prawns, ready for gambas pil pil or the BBQ.

You will be ready to prepare your own shellfish feast for your family that evening, or create a number of dishes with your freshly prepared ingredients, thats your decision.
Recipe ideas are free flowing during the morning, including tasters from your instructors finished items to torment your tastebuds.

Course fee is £125 per person and includes
